Arran Burn
Robert McLellan's very beautiful poem, evoking the sight and sounds of an Arran burn as it travels along its course. Here it is recited by John Sillars, a great admirer of Robert's work, whose voice lends itself perfectly to the cadence of the poem.
Recorded on Arran by John Boyd in 2019 during the McLellan Festival.

Sheila Gilmore says, “This is a beautiful poem written by Scottish playwright Robert McLellen, who lived at High Corrie. It was commissioned by the BBC and first produced in 1965. It’s one of my favourite pieces of all time - the language is so descriptive. This is the start of the burn's journey - I hope you enjoy it.”
