TENEMENT TALES A two part series made for CAMGLEN Community Radio By Carrick McDonald and Christine Quarrell Carrick was born in Lamlash and is a true Arranach! Now living on the big island he and Christine have produced a wonderfully evocative two-part series which although it comes from ‘overseas’ many Arran residents and visitors will recognise and I am sure this will stir memories in quite a few. For those not of Scottish origin, tenements are apartments or flats, usually of three or four storeys high and with a tiled entrance hall, walls and floor, known as a Wally close! We are grateful to CamGlen Community Radio for their kind permission in allowing us to bring this highly entertaining programme to you all, enjoy! Come back next week for the next instalment. |
