Objective of the competition
Home page photograph of the month
To produce and submit a digital image ‘of the month’ to be used as the home page image
on arransound.com website for one month, each month.
Project;
Chose one of the following.
a. To find a subject and take a digital image that is exciting and eye catching, exploring any ideas you may have that Illustrate the diversity of life on Arran.
b. To find a subject and take a digital image that epitomises a particular month, for example The beach in August, snow in January, Christmas trees in December.
c. To produce an image that surprises us., use your imagination.
Participants;
All students attending Arran High School from S4 upwards can participate. A collaborative process would be encouraged but does not give rise to any advantage.
Technical details
1. The image must be original and not submitted for competition or used in any way before.
2. Any technique can be used in taking your photograph, however it must ultimately be adaptable for the website
3. Once complete, the original photograph can be submitted through the contact button on the website. It must be accompanied by your name, age and school year.
4. Your photograph can be accompanied, if you wish, by a brief written explanation in plain English of the concept for your photograph and the main ideas represented.
Submission deadlines
Photographs for the following months competition must be submitted by the 15th of the month preceding. For example, submissions for the month of October must be sent into us by the 15th of September.
The Arran Sound Group shall choose a winner from those correctly submitted. The chosen photograph will be exhibited on ArranSound.com Home Page for a minimum period of one month.
The winner of each month’s Homepage photograph, will be announced on ArranSound.com
Participation in the competition implies the acceptance of these terms, as well as the criteria and acceptance of the judges’ final decision.
Copyright
Your photograph must be unpublished and directly created for this competition.
Submission of the designs implies authorisation to reproduce and show to the public with or without the photographers name attached.
That authorisation implies that publication will not generate any retribution in perpetuity and the copyright will be given to ArranSound.com who organised the competition. No financial benefit will be available to the designer/designers, now or at anytime in the future. Copyright rests with ArranSound.com
